Currently an M.A. candidate in the Joint Graduate Program in Communication & Culture at Ryerson & York Universities, his area of specialization is 20th century French thought. His current research interests include: the relationship between long-term university planning and the urbanization of the city, the history of neo-liberalism and the university, and the theory of human capital and its re-conceptualization of “the student body”. He has published a paper, "The 'Claws of Absolute Necessity': Deleuze on Culture", in eTopia, an on-line initiative of TOPIA: Canadian Journal of Cultural Studies.

    - The Communication and Culture Graduate Student Association is hosting its annual Creative Night! This event offers an opportunity for students to showcase their creative talents in all disciplines. We want your words, sounds, images, films and performances! Creative Night provides an occasion to nurture creative modes of thinking not always recognized in the academic stream.<br />


    W    e are seeking contributions from all arts disciplines for this event. We ask that time-based work be limited to ten minutes, but we will try to accommodate all submissions. />

With the assistance of a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship, Paul's current research focuses on interrogating the differences in the way we perceive and derive meaning through images and language. Paul is a co-founder of Fado Performance Inc. and the 7a*11d International Festival of Performance Art; and he is the editor of books on the works of Canadian performance artists Margaret Dragu and Tanya Mars. Paul has taught at McMaster? University and at the University of Toronto Scarborough. His solo and collaborative performances and videos have been presented in approximately 20 countries. Paul is the Chair for the 2010 Intersections conference.
